About FOMV
Friends of Musique et Vin au Clos Vougeot, Inc. (FOMV) is a tax-exempt American S01(c)(3) organization that supports young musicians worldwide by providing funds, an instrument loan program, training, awards, and travel. This includes occasional grants and sponsorship for the annual Musique et Vin au Clos Vougeot festival, held every June; with the 18th edition in 2026.
Promoting a Franco-American cultural partnership has been a cornerstone of the festival since its conception, and FOMV has been an active and engaged nationwide US supporter.
In the fall of 2019, FOMV held its first concert and dinner at the French Consulate in New York City, raising funds to commission a violin by master luthier Sam Zygmuntowicz, awarded as a loan to Blaire Kim, the winner of FOMV’s April 2023 Violin Competition at Lincoln Center. In 2025, the violin transferred to our next winner, Adriana Bec, for a multi-year loan.
During the Covid shutdowns in 2020, FOMV held a virtual fundraiser and concert at Clos de Vougeot, using proceeds to support musicians who lost income.
In the summer of 2024, FOMV commissioned a cello by renowned luthiers Moes & Moes in association with Yo-Yo Ma, and in October 2025 awarded it for a multi-year loan to our audition winner Lila Holyoke.
Since 2022, FOMV has hosted several successtul gala dinners and concerts with prominent Burgundian wine domaines in New York and San Francisco, and we are planning one in New York City on October 28, 2025.
