From June 20 to 28, 2026, Musique & Vin au Clos Vougeot celebrated its 18th edition.

The program highlighted the new generation of musicians —”Young Talents”—who performed alongside renowned figures from the international classical music scene. This edition is dedicated to the themes of passing on knowledge, shared experiences, and intergenerational dialogue.

The 18th edition featured concerts in some of Burgundy’s most iconic venues, including concerts at the Château du Clos de Vougeot, the courtyard of the Hôtel-Dieu des Hospices de Beaune, the Abbaye de Saint-Vivant, and the Château de Meursault.

Several of the scheduled wine tastings had to be canceled due to the excessive heat. However, guests were still able to experience an exceptional wine tasting in the cellar of the Château de Meursault, featuring wines from Burgundy’s most prestigious estates.

On November 18, the Fonds Instrumental awarded a new instrument to a promising young musician. The violin, crafted in 2021 by renowned luthier Samuel Zygmuntowicz, was entrusted to Adriana Bec, a student at the Royal Academy of Music in London.

Friends of Musique et Vin au Clos Vougeot, Inc. (FOMV) presented our second entry into The Instrument Fund with another unique opportunity, this time for cellists between the ages of 18 and 28 to compete for the use of a cello by renowned luthier Peter Moes for the next two years.

Crafted with precision and immense care, Moes and Moes cellos are highly coveted even by leading professionals; but for an aspiring young artist, it is a true gift and privilege to play one. Husband and wife Peter and Wendela Moes have been working together for 43 years, and provided instruments to some of the world’s most celebrated classical musicians, including two for Yo-Yo Ma, whose generous sponsorship made this opportunity possible.

The final round took place on October 28th 2025 at The Links Club, and was proceeded by a concert and gala dinner at The New York Historical Society Museum and Library.

On Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at the Couvent des Cordeliers in Beaune, the Instrument Fund of Musique & Vin au Clos Vougeot organized an exceptional day of auditions. Eighteen young musicians, rigorously selected from the greatest European conservatories, were invited to present a set piece and a piece of their own choosing to an exceptional jury.

This jury was made up of personalities from the world of wine and classical music – Aubert de Villaine, President of Musique & Vin, Bernard Hervet, Director of Musique & Vin, Daniel Weissmann, Bertrand Dermoncourt, General Manager of Radio Classique, and Raphaël Perraud, solo cellist of the Orchestre National de France – who all praised the level of excellence of this new generation of musicians.

At the end of the auditions, 17 musicians were loaned a high-quality string instrument for a period of 1 to 3 years. These loans represent a real springboard for their professional future, accompanied by tailor-made support throughout these years. This year, two newly commissioned violins, signed by Antoine Gonon and Charles Cocquet, have joined the Fund and found takers among the young musicians auditioned.

Zygmuntowicz violins are prized for their rich, powerful sound and extraordinary craftsmanship. They are highly coveted even by leading professionals; but for an aspiring young artist, it is a true gift and privilege to play one. As America’s most celebrated violin maker, Mr. Zygmuntowicz often commands a waiting list of several years, but he produced the current instrument in 2021 for the express purpose of awarding its use to a young artist through FOMV.
